Mother’s Day - Inspiring Mums

Mother’s Day - Inspiring Mums

Mother’s Day has been celebrated for over a century now. It’s a beautiful time to thank our mums for all the love, care and support they gave us throughout our lives. Being a mother is possibly one of the most difficult but also fulfilling jobs, which is why sharing this experience with other people is always helpful.

In occasion of such an important day, we wanted to honor all mothers through these inspiring women and their beautiful families.

Mirka Federer

In the words of Roger Federer you can feel the unity and love of the family. Although Mirka has always refused interviews, her constant presence and support towards her husband and kids says it all. Mother of two sets of twins, daughters Charlene and Myla and sons Leo and Lenny, you can often see the family during Roger’s tournaments cheering for their favorite champion! And it looks like tennis will be a family thing, as before her marriage, Mirka was a professional tennis player herself; a sport all children have started to practice. Today, in addition to being a full-time mom, she proudly helps run her husband’s eponymous foundation supporting educational projects around Africa and Switzerland.

Michelle Obama

“With every word we utter, with every action we take, we know our kids are watching us. We as parents are their most important tole models.”

Michelle Obama is probably one of the most iconic mothers out there. The former First Lady truly portrays strength, ambition and success. From her brilliant academic path studying at both Princeton and Harvard, to her promising career as a lawyer, she stood by her husband Barack Obama throughout his election campaigns and presidencies on top of being a supportive mother to her daughters Malia and Sasha. She became an inspiring key figure through her dedication in supporting minorities, as well as her actions with the Obama Foundation. Moreover, despite the huge media attention and her exponential fame, Michelle Obama has always shown wisdom, humility and kindness, qualities defining a true Boss-Mom.

Angelina Jolie

“Each is a beautiful way of becoming family. What is important is to speak with openness about all of it and to share. ‘Adoption’ and ‘orphanage’ are positive words in our home.”

Known for a brilliant career in acting and modeling, as well as an advocate for the environment and wildlife, Angelina Jolie is what we call a super-mom! With more than a handful of kids by her side, she showed the world what a united family is. Having three children of her own, her daughter Shiloh (2006) and her twins Knox and Vivienne (2008), she first became mother of adopted Maddox in 2002 and then Zahara and Pax in 2005 and 2007. When asked about motherhood, Angelina speaks about the wonderful journeys she went through with each of her children, and how watching them grow, brightens up every single day!

Chiara Ferragni

“Becoming a mother gave me the greatest gift of life and at the same time made me a new person. I understood the real meaning of empathy and I’ve never felt more connected to people around me.”

Despite the glamorous and shining image you see on social media, Chiara Ferragni was one of those mothers who struggled to build the happy and healthy family she has now. She recently opened up about her past life and how she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, resulting in a risk of not being able to have children at all. She often speaks about the importance of physical and mental health, and how crucial it is to treat and take care of your body and mind. And the results of her journey to self-care were life changing, as today, she is the proud mother of beautiful Leone and Vittoria!
