• Hallstatt, Austria

Right by the water and surrounded by the Dachstein Mountains, this Austrian town filled with 12th century fairy-tale churches allows tourists to experience wonderful landscapes throughout the year. For hiking lovers, the Hallstatt skywalk above the city offers breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. Several ski resorts surround the area.

• Bergen, Norway

Famous for its colourful wooden buildings, Bergen offers breathtaking views of the fjords covered in snow with cruises available all year round. With a chance to catch the northern lights, the town offers as well plenty of cafés near the water and the harbour where visitors can enjoy local kanelboller (Norwegian cinnamon roll) and hot chocolate. The funicular is a rustic cable car which allows tourists to access the top of Mount Fløyen for a spectacular view on Bergen mountains, with skiing, snowboarding and sledding opportunities.
