Please tell us a little about yourself and what you do for a living…
I originally worked as a makeup artist for 19 years but then found jewellery design as another creative outlet for me. I founded By Charlotte in 2012 and have loved watching the brand grow ever since.
Who lives in your home?
I live with my gorgeous partner Ryan, our four-year-old daughter Estelle and our loveable pup, Bowie.
How would you describe your home?
I’m a strong believer in the saying, 'home is where the heart is', so the design of our house definitely reflects our loves and passions. The tone of my house is ‘island’ with a very laid back feel. Natural light was super important when I built my home... it’s everything! Light filtering throughout the house creates positive energy and happiness.
Please describe your decorating style…
I love raw and organic, very considered pieces in my house – and lots of linen!
Is there a colour palette that you work to?
No colour except for one massive painting that’s super bright by the artist, Alesandro LJubicic.
What is your favourite period for furniture or accessories?
I love timeless organic, neutral-coloured furniture. It's versatile and flatters so many different interior designs.
What makes a house feel like home for you?
My family!
Which is your favourite room and why?
My favourite room is my lounge room - sun filled and quiet. I love reading and relaxing on my soft linen couch.
What would you say is your favourite thing?
I love my Alesandro LJubicic painting, it really brings the design of the place together. It’s so eye-catching and creates a beautiful feature wall in the house.
How did your home make you feel during lockdown?
I felt incredibly lucky being in our family home for lockdown. It’s definitely where we are most comfortable and it’s such a bright and upbeat place which helped to keep a positive mindset.
Would you change anything about your home?
Maybe a little more space now that our little one is growing up!
What’s your top tip for decorating a home?
Be your authentic self! Your home is your happy place so you want it to be made up of all the things you love.
